On-Demand babysitting

Designing a digital product from an idea is always challenging, in the case of Usit there was an added layer of trust and unparallelled safety involved due to the nature of the offering.

Usit offers vetted, local student sitters for parents, on-demand through a mobile app. We are all familiar with Uber and how easy it is to use, and that was what we wanted to achieve with the Usit mobile app.

The app has to separate portals: parent and student. Both serve completely separate functions yet have a cohesive look and feel.

Ensure finding the right sitter and live tracking for safety

To ensure that parents are matches with the right sitter, we designed a process where parents create a "job" post first with all the necessary details such as time, location, pay, duration and any other pertinent information. Students then apply and parents have the ability to look through each application, read the potential sitters information including reviews from previous jobs on the app and then book.

Once the job is live the sitter's location is tracked in real time and shown to the parent. Parents can also send a direct in-app message or request a photo to be sent from that location.
